Ammara Abid

Volunteer

Ammara is the Project Coordinator for Bonnie Boots. Boots & Beards started this project in 2017 to give women a space of their own which allows them to explore the outdoors freely. Ammara has always remained an active member of the community and through this role she arranges hikes and activities for women and also coordinates Duke of Edinburgh. She has a PGDE in Secondary Teaching and is a Mum of two who also share her enthusiasm for the outdoors. Recently she has joined the Scottish Wildlife Trust as a Young Leader and aims to break barriers in the outdoors to make it an inclusive and accessible space for all. Ammara is eager to build bridges into nature and wellbeing. She wishes to use this platform to show the importance of reconnecting with nature and the many benefits it has on everyone’s health and wellbeing. Ammara is excited to work with like-minded individuals who share her passion and she can’t wait to get started on bagging some Munros in Bonnie Scotland!
