Helena grew up in the West Midlands but has been living in Scotland for almost 9 years. During school, she was lucky enough to receive a grant to attend an outward bound course in the Lake District and has been hooked on hiking ever since. Her interest in nature and mountains led her to study Geography at the University of St Andrews. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh and is researching how universities are training the next generation of conservation leaders. Helena is assisting with behind-the-scenes administrative tasks and first met Boots & Beards during her Environmental Protection and Management MSc. When not munro bagging or cycling around the Pentland Hills, she enjoys sewing and always has a crafty project on the go.
