Explore this 9.8-km point-to-point trail near Arrochar, Argyll and Bute. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 0 min to complete. This trail is great for backpacking, camping, and hiking. This is the last and shortest section of the Three Lochs Way, which links Loch Lomond, Gare Loch, and Loch Long via a 55.5-kilometre route, with this section taking you from Arrochar to Inveruglas. The trail starts from the Arrochar and Tarbet Railway station, where there is also some parking available. From here, follow the path along the slopes of Cruach Tairbeirt before continuing on the bridleway through the glen. Eventually, you’ll cross Inveruglas Water and follow the river down to Inveruglas on the banks of Loch Lomond.

This circular walk leads through the attractive pastoral countryside of lowland Perthshire. The section alongside the River Earn is very attractive but includes an awkward stretch in Stage 3. Much of the route is waymarked but some of the markers are missing, particularly on the difficult riverside section.

Named after the 'father of national parks' John Muir, the John Muir Way is a coast-to-coast trail which runs 134 miles from Helensburgh to Dunbar, the birthplace of the man who would be instrumental in founding America's national parks. The trail makes a great multi-day hike, with accommodation available at the end of each section. As the weather in Scotland is ever changeable, it is always recommended that you carry warm and waterproof layers with you on your walk.

A shapely hill range rather than a single mountain, Beinn a' Ghlò has three Munro summits giving a strenuous day. The summits may be rounded, but the steep flanks and sculpted form of this great massif makes for a memorable outing.

A circular tour of the hills either side of Glen Sherup, including the popular summit of Ben Shee, the Donalds Innerdownie and Tarmangie Hill, and the Glendevon Woodlands. Superb views from the high ground.

Ben A'an is one of the most popular amongst Scotland's smaller hills. Often known as the mountain in miniature, its position at the heart of the Trossachs makes it a truly wonderful viewpoint. The car park quickly becomes full on sunny weekends in summer, nearest alternative Ben Venue carpark 450m along A821 towards Aberfoyle.

This fine forestry circuit follows a track up to the attractive Ghleannain Loch before descending to reach Loch Àrd. The return walk beside the latter loch is pure delight.
